Vasco Sports Club rallied to hold Sesa Football Academy 1-1 in the GFA Professional League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Friday. Sesa held upper hand in the opening session and in the 39th minute, striker Kunal Salgaocar scored past the goalkeeper with a snap shot. Spurred by the success, the Sesa lads upped the ante but could not add to their score due some inept shooting by the forwards. At the other end, Vasco struggled to find the equaliser. Crossing over, Vasco were purposeful but didn't find any success. The Port Towners equalised in the 51st minute as captain and experienced midfielder Francisco Fernandes found the net.
CK Nayudu cricket: Goa beat Himachal
Goa completed the formalities on the fourth day, defeating Himachal Pradesh by 3 wickets to register their first win in the Col CK Nayudu cricket tournament match played at Alur Cricket Stadium, Bengaluru on Friday. Goa required 17 runs to win with 4 wickets in hand and lost the wicket of Mohit Redkar, who was bowled by Ritik Kumar. Later, Vaibhav Govekar and Aditya Suryavanshi took Goa through, scoring unbeaten 17 and 5 runs respectively. For Himachal Pradesh Raghav Bali and Ritik Kumar took 4 and 3 wickets respectively. Goa collected 6 points from the win and are placed third with 7 points. FC Goa v Chennaiyin to open RFDL
Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) Friday announced the fixtures for its inaugural edition, which starts Friday, April 15, in Goa. FC Goa take on Chennaiyin FC in the curtain-raiser while Bengaluru FC face off against Reliance Foundation Young Champs later on the opening day. All matches will be played at the Nagoa Football Ground and the Benaulim Football Ground in South Goa. The season culminates on Thursday, May 12 with a match between Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters FC.
