Parish Youth Nuvem edged past Guirdolim Club 2-1 to advance to the semifinals of the All Goa inter-village football tournament, organised by UC Utorda in memory of the late Nicholas Rodrigues.
In the first half, Meislien Barretto put Parish Youth Nuvem ahead with an early goal in the fourth minute. Guirdolim had a few opportunities to score but couldn’t find the target.
After the break, Meislien Barretto struck again, scoring his second goal in the 30th minute to give Nuvem a 2-0 lead. However, Guirdolim Club responded quickly, with Victorino Fernandes scoring just a minute later to reduce the deficit to 2-1.
The Man of the Match award was presented to Mecvino Colaco by Ulrique Rodrigues.
