Parish Youth Nuvem booked their place in the final of the UCT Trophy Inter-Village Football Tournament after edging out Fr Agnel Youth Club Paroda 5-4 in a dramatic penalty shootout.
The match, played at the Government Village School Grounds in Telaulim, ended 0-0 in regular time, with both teams unable to break the deadlock despite numerous chances.
The shootout proved to be a nerve-wracking affair. Nicolau Colaco, Inacio Colaco, Joywin Colaco, Godfrey Mascarenhas, and Drawin Colaco all converted their penalties for Parish Youth Nuvem, securing the win. On the other hand, Melwin Fernandes, Clifton Fernandes, Salvin Fernandes, and Civan Clemente found the back of the net for Fr Agnel Youth Club Paroda, but it wasn’t enough to clinch victory.
Alister Ferrao, Chairman of the United Club of Telaulim, presented the Man of the Match award to Nicolau Colaco of Parish Youth Nuvem for his stellar performance throughout the match and the shootout.
