Sakshi Kale strikes gold and silver at Indian Open Para Athletics

Rising blind para-athlete Sakshi Kale delivered an impressive performance at the 8th Indian Open Para Athletics International Competition held at the Shree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru from May 26 to 28, 2026.

Competing in the T-13 blind category, Sakshi clinched the gold medal in the 100 metres and secured a silver medal in the 400 metres.

Hailing from Usgao and currently studying at Government College, Khandola, Sakshi is the only para-athlete from Goa participating in the competition.

Expressing gratitude after her achievement, Sakshi thanked everyone who supported her journey, including her coaches, Goans and well-wishers.

“I would like to thank everyone who supported me, especially my coaches, fellow Goans and all my well-wishers,” said Sakshi Kale.
