Salcete Badminton Club (SBC) will host the All-Goa Major Ranking Tournament, powered by Vision Goa and organised in collaboration with the Goa Badminton Association and the Sports Authority of Goa from August 16 to 18. The event will be hosted at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium in Navelim.
This tournament serves as a key selection event for players aiming to represent Goa in upcoming all-India competitions. It is expected to be a significant platform for young athletes looking to make an impact on the national stage.
With over 300 entries anticipated from across Goa, the tournament will feature competitions for emerging talent in the U-11, U-13, U-15, and U-17 age groups. Attendees can look forward to witnessing high-level performances and the dedication of some of the region’s most promising badminton players.
The SBC, which was founded in 2021 with the goal of promoting and developing badminton in Goa, is spearheading the event. The club is dedicated to identifying and nurturing young talent from local schools and has invited players from rural schools throughout the taluka to participate.
Over the past three years, the SBC has made significant strides in advancing the sport, including organising advanced badminton coaching camps; hosting all-Goa State-level tournaments; conducting exchange programmes with players from Karnataka; offering workshops on sports nutrition; coordinating treks and meditation and yoga camps for young athletes.
