Sesa FA dominated Guardian Angel SC with a commanding 5-0 victory in the 2nd edition of the Bhausaheb Bandodkar Memorial Trophy at Duler Stadium on Monday.
Sesa's Omkar Shetgaonkar, Clive Miranda, Shridharnath Gawas, and Beckham Singh all found the back of the net in a relentless first half, while Clencio Pinto came off the bench in the second half to put the finishing touches on the rout.
From the opening whistle, Sesa controlled the pace in midfield, and it didn't take long for their efforts to bear fruit. In the 12th minute, Omkar Shetgaonkar calmly tapped in the opener, setting the tone for the match. Moments later, Clive Miranda doubled the lead with a clinical header from a pinpoint Kirtikesh cross.
Sesa's attack showed no signs of slowing down as Shridharnath Gawas added a third, rifling a half-volley home from a Beckham Singh pass. As the first half drew to a close, Singh, who had been orchestrating much of the play, turned from provider to scorer, dribbling past the Guardian Angel defence and curling a shot into the far post to make it 4-0 at the break.
In the second half, substitute Clencio Pinto put the icing on the cake, dribbling past the Guardian Angel goalkeeper to slot home the fifth and final goal of the game.
In other action, Goa Police SC and Pax of Nagoa played to a goalless draw at Chowgule ground on Monday.
