In the early hours of August 13, Colva Police responded swiftly to reports of suspicious individuals from other states causing disturbances in the Varca area. Acting on the information, they conducted a thorough operation, rounding up 34 individuals. Out of these, 12 were booked under Section 35 of the BNSS Act for creating a nuisance, while the action of stranger roll was initiated against the remaining 22.

A day prior, Colva Police had apprehended 5 individuals under the Tourist Trade Act for touting in the Colva area. These individuals were found distributing pamphlets and offering tourists free prizes through coupons, thereby obstructing tourists and commuters. When questioned, they were unable to provide any official authorization to act as guides or agents. They were booked under Section 2(g) read with Section 26 of the Goa, Daman, and Diu Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982. These offenders are set to be presented before the Tourism Department today.
