SC Davorlim staged a remarkable comeback with an 11-10 win in the tiebreaker to enter the finals of the 16th Super Soccer football tournament organised by United Club of Benaulim at St John the Baptist Dando ground, Benaulim.
The match had intense moments and proved to be the highlight of the tournament so far. Levy Pereira gave Benaulim an early lead in the 19th minute, swiftly countered by Reeve D’Costa's equaliser in the 20th minute.
The second half intensified as Joswan Cardozo reclaimed the lead for Benaulim in the 37th minute. Benaulim further extended their advantage to 3-1 with Nicholas scoring in the 65th minute.
However, Davorlim refused to be deterred, narrowing the gap through Reeve's goal in the 68rd minute. As Benaulim believed victory was near, Reeve struck again with a hat-trick in the 69th minute.
The match eventually was decided on penalties, where SC Davorlim's proficiency in shooting prevailed. Reeve D’Costa's impressive hat-trick earned him the title of the Man of the Match, presented by football enthusiast Amilcar Pereira from Benaulim.
