SC Virabhat moved into the next round after registering a hard-fought 3-2 win over Rumba United in the 9-a-side Curtorim Interward Football Tournament 2026, organised by Sporting Club Virabhat at St Alex Church Ground, Curtorim.
SC Virabhat opened the scoring in the 15th minute through Ryce Fernandes, who finished off a pass from Lourdes Fernandes to give his side a 1-0 lead. Rumba United equalised five minutes later when Joshua Mascarenhas found the net to make it 1-1 at half-time.
After the break, Virabhat regained the lead in the 40th minute with Ryce Fernandes scoring his second goal of the match. Vivon Fernandes then extended the advantage in the 42nd minute to make it 3-1.
Rumba United reduced the margin through Alynier Fernandes in the 45th minute, but SC Virabhat held firm to seal a 3-2 victory.
Ryce Fernandes of SC Virabhat was awarded the man-of-the-match prize by Jose Castanha, Sports Secretary of SC Virabhat.
