Seraulim Veterans defeated Cavelossim Veterans 2-0 to emerge champions of the Banaulim Veterans football tournament played at Benaulim ground.
Jess Cardozo scored both goals for Seraulim Veterans. MLA of Benaulim constituency, Venzy Viegas, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up.
Union Gymkhana beat RCC South
Union Gymkhana Belgaum won a tough match against a fighting RCC South by 19 runs in the Exposure Trophy organised by Margao Cricket Youth Club at KRC ground Margao.
Batting first after winning the toss, Union Gym scored 125 for 6 in 20 overs (Muhammad Abbas 45, Farhan Shaikh 17 Tejas Valmiki 17 in 9 balls; Swapnil Nayak, Anay Lakhani, Anurag Bahadur, Aayush Kaushal and Parth Sankpal took 1 wicket each).
RCC South could only manage 106 for 8 in 20 overs (Ruthvik Lad 32, Yuvraj Dabholkar 34, Tejas Valmiki 2 for 8 in four overs, Mohd Hamja and Shahrukh took 1 wicket each). Tejas Valmiki was the Man of the match.
YSC Colvale shoot into semis
Youth Sports Club of Colvale defeated Xetrapal SC 3-2 via the tiebreaker to enter into the semifinals of the Nerul Cup football tournament played at Nerul ground on Monday.
After a barren full session, Vinay Pednekar, Tushar Haldankar netted for Xetrapal SC while Yash Narvekar, Utkarsh Dessai and Derick Rodrigues found the mark for YSC Colvale.
