Sesa Football Academy produced a fine display in the first half against Youth Club of Manora which was enough for them to seal three points in the Selvel Goa Professional League with a 5-3 win at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Sunday.
Sesa FA scored all the five goals in the first half while Manora rallied well to score their three goals in the second half.
Sesa FA started their onslaught in the 10th minute when Aman played a long delivery from his own half to Omkar. The latter controlled the ball brilliantly and fired a shot past the Manora keeper. Sesa doubled their lead in the 22nd minute and this time it was Vishnu Gosavi, who upon entering the box saw Rizbon unmarked and floated a perfect delivery to the youngster, who nodded in from close range.
Manora were totally outplayed in the first session as Sesa netted their third goal at the half-hour mark. Vishnu sent in a cross from the right flank to an unmarked Myron Pereira who brilliantly put the ball past the keeper. Aniston tried keeping the ball out, but couldn’t do much.
In the 36th minute, Aman Rajbhar scored a solo strike after he covered some distance and beat his marker to fire past a helpless keeper. Sesa scored their fifth goal after capitalising on a defensive error. YC Manora keeper Bradman Dongkarkar failed to control a back pass and Rizbin won the ball before coolly slotting it into the back of the net.
Manora were a much-improved side in the second half and they took just five minutes to score their first goal from a set-piece. Aniston Fernandes whipped in a delivery from the right where Rajinder headed in.
Manora then scored their second within a minute through Eldon Colaco. Joywin Carneiro was the third goal-getter for Manora when he capitalised on a Sesa FA defensive mix-up.
