SFX Camarxet booked their spot in the next round of the Silver Jubilee Cup 2025 inter-ward football tournament with a 2-0 victory over Paldem SC. The tournament is being organized by Sporting Club Virabhat at the St. Alex Church ground in Curtorim.
In a fast-paced and competitive encounter, both teams displayed attacking intent from the start. Camarxet nearly took the lead early on when Casvino Fernandes’ powerful shot was expertly saved by Paldem goalkeeper Petermark D’Cunha. Paldem came close to scoring in the 25th minute, but Elton Mascarenhas’ attempt struck the post. The first half ended goalless despite chances at both ends.
Camarxet broke the deadlock in the second half when Anslem Fernandes found the back of the net in the 30th minute. Ten minutes later, Rohit Shetty doubled the lead with a clinical finish, making it 2-0 in favor of Camarxet.
Paldem SC pushed hard in the final minutes in search of a comeback, but Camarxet’s defense held firm to secure the clean sheet and a well-earned win.
Anslem Fernandes was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance. The award was presented by Conceicao Castanha, Treasurer of Sporting Club Virabhat.
