Sinquerim SC beat Rossman Cruz Nagoa to sail into the semifinals of the FC Tuem Champions Trophy organised by FC Tuem in association with CAM Group of Companies at DSYA ground, Tuem on Wednesday.
Rossman Cruz scored the fastest goal of the tournament in the 3rd minute through striker Iman Guled. In the 10th minute, Sinquerim’s Sidhant Palni missed an easy chance to tap the ball into the goal from Chaitan Pirankar’s free kick. In the 18th minute, Sinquerim’s Pratik Tirodkar’s shot was cleared by Rossman’s Clifton Rebello.
In the 25th minute, Rossman’s Iman dribbled past a couple of defenders to score his brace. In the very next minute, Rossman could have increased their tally but Romario’s shot hit the goal post. In the 30th minute, Sinquerim’s Pratik Tirodkar tapped the ball home to reduce the margin. In the 34th minute, Pratik’s header missed the goal by a whisker. Rossman Cruz led 2-1 at the break.
Post resumption, the match sprung to life back only in the 59th minute when Sinquerim’s Prajyot Gaonkar scored with neat placement. In the 62nd minute, Gopal Gaddi’s long-range shot missed the top corner of the Rossman goal. In the 70th minute, Pratik scored his brace, 3-2.
In the added-on time, Rossman went all out and in the 70+2 minutes, Sheldon Perreira missed a golden opportunity to level the scoreline for Rossman. Sinquerim will now face Augustias SC in the semifinals on October 21.
