A dramatic comeback saw South Goa United Club secure a 2-2 draw against Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club in a closely contested Second Division All Goa Playoff match at Rosary Ground on Wednesday.
The first half was a slow burner, but it ignited just before the break when Alex Fernandes put South Goa United ahead in the 44th minute. However, Vagator Parish stormed back after the interval.
Rutik Bandodkar leveled the score in the 60th minute, and Nelson Fernandes gave Vagator Parish the lead just a minute later. South Goa United refused to give up, and Pedro Gonsalves scored a crucial equalizer in the 97th minute of added time.
Despite the draw, Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club secured promotion to the First Division league for the following year, edging out South Goa United on goal average.
