Sporting Clube de Goa trounced Panjim Footballers 4-0 in the GFA Professional League, at Tilak Maidan, Vasco, on Thursday.
The Flaming Oranje led 2-0 at half-time. In pursuit of three crucial points, both teams took the field with high spirits each aiming to maximise their gains from the fixture.
The impact player of the season defender Biswa KR Darjee wasted no time as he surged into an attack and found the net in the 11th minute. Spurred by the early success , Sporting Clube de Goa intensified their attacks and scored the insurance goal in the 25th minute when Akeeraj Martins slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot. Akeeraj Martins and Francisco Fernandes accompanied the duo with an effortless goal and despite relentless ball possession, Sporting Clube de Goa could'nt add to the tally in first half.
The second half witnessed tactical changes which illuminated the Flaming Oranje dominance. Midfielder Vidipit Dua and substitute Ahongshangbam Sushil altered the dynamics of the game.
In the 50th minute, Ahongshangbam Sushil made an impact and found the roof of the net. Sporting Clube de Goa maintained the fluid ball movement and capitalised on opportunities as Vidipi Dua fired the last nail into the rival coffin in the 50th minute.
At the other end, Panjim Footballers were subdued and hardly made inroads into the rival territory.
