SS Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira defeated Goa Dental College and Hospital by 10 wickets in the Goa University Inter Collegiate Cricket Men Championship at Goa University cricket ground, Taleigao.
The toss was won by Goa Dental College and Hospital who opted to bat.
Goa Dental College and Hospital were restricted to 81 runs in 20 overs. Atharva Naik: 21(29) was their top scorer for the innings. Mihir Gawde (2/09), Yash Manjrekar (2/12) and Gauresh Bandal (2/12) were the pick of the bowlers for SS Dempo College.
In reply, SS Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira chased down the target in 7.1 overs.The opening pair of Devanshu Mangeuskar 52(20) and Sameer Panparoshan 21(23) sealed the match for the Cujira side.
In the second match went down the wire as P.G. Goa University were defeated by one run against Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola.
The toss was won by Khandola college who opted to bat. They were restricted to 169/10 in 19.4 overs. Shardul Shet 37(17) and Saish Gaude 31(24) managed to build a commanding target for the opponents to chase. Manthan Sawant (3/28) and Anand Tendulkar (2/26) were excellent of the PG bowling lot.
In reply, PG Goa University almost chased down the target thanks to Anand Tendulkar 108(48). However his efforts went in vain after Abdul Mashal (2/20), Rishab Fadte (2/35) and the Khandola team managed to pull off a thriller.
