St Sebastian SC prevailed over PVC Parra 6-5 via tiebreaker and moved into the semifinal of the Nerul Cup at Nerul Ground on Friday. In the first half, Naya Virnodkar scored for St Sebastian in the 26th minute. In the second half, Joston Cardoz equalised for PVC Parra through a penalty as defender Shivanand Naik handled the ball in the penalty area. In the tiebreaker, Edvin Veigas, Jewel Fernandes, Nayan Virnodkar, Shivanand Naik and Alano D'Souza scored for St Sebastian while for PVC Parra, Floyd Pereira, Veron Pereira, Joston Cardozo and Pallav Maravi scored.
Curtorim march into semifinals
MARGAO: Curtorim Gymkhana marched into the semifinal after defeating Betalbatim SC 2-1 in the Betalbatim Villagers Cup at Betalbatim Ground on Friday. Curtorim Gymkhana netted a goal each through Joywin Carneiro and Nixon Castanha in the 10th and 60th minutes respectively and for Betalbatim, Klusner Pereira netted a goal in the 66th minute. Nixon Castanha of Curtorim Gymkhana was awarded man of the match.
