In a first-of-its kind, veteran women players came together to launch the 1st edition of the All-Exclusive Women's Badminton League at the Indoor Stadium, Campal.
Two teams led by National level players ”one led by Supriya Pai Kuchelkar and the other captained by Nita Pednekar”each comprising 16 players, competed in this spirited event that showcased skill, camaraderie, and passion for the sport.
The league was initiated by Vineeta Adpaikar, a dedicated women’s player cum organiser, marking a special milestone in the 60th year of the Goa Badminton Association.
Vrushali Cardozo, Chairman of the GBA Women’s Wing, announced plans to organize such leagues quarterly, culminating in a grand Women’s Badminton Festival, celebrating women’s contribution to the sport across the decades.
