United Club of Telaulim (UCT) registered their second win in the 5th GFA Vedanta Women’s League with a dominant 4-0 win over Futebol Club YFA at Rosary Ground, Navelim on Friday. UCT led 3-0 at half time.
UCT dominated the game and Karen Estrocio handed them the lead. Karen then made it 2-0, slotting past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot to complete her brace. Rizella Cia Cardozo, who played a pivotal role for the team, punted the ball to the far corner to extend the lead.
Post resumption, UCT attacked both the flanks as their opponents tried to come back into the match. Stessi Cardozo scored the fourth for UCT to clinch their second win from three matches. It was Fuetbol Club YFA's match.
Rizella of UCT was adjudged Player of the Match.
Meanwhile at Duler stadium, Mapusa, the match between FC Goa and Sirvodem SC was called off in the second half due to bad weather. The teams were tied 0-0 till the time the match was called off. The decision on playing the remainder of the game will be taken by the Goa Football Association.
