The Field Archery Association of India organised its first online competition in archery recently.
Archers from Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh and Goa took part in the competition, which was played in bamboo wooden bow (Indian bow), freestyle recurve, freestyle unlimited, and compound bow.
The competition was for senior men and women, veteran men and women, Under-10, -14, -17 and -19 for boys and girls. Twelve archers of Zito Archery Club of Don Bosco Oratory, Panaji participated in the competition.
Results: Veteran men - Aresh Naik “ 1st; Veteran women - Usha Narvekar “ 1st; Under-10 boys - Ridhaan Gohiol “ 7th, Arav Menezes “ 10th; Under-14 boys - Shripad Dattaraj Desai “ 6th, Nayfen Fernandes “ 8th, Samuel Fernandes - 9th; Under-14 girls - Reeya Kerkar - 4th, Ishani Dattaraj Desai “ 5th, Jannat Bedi “ 6th; Under-17 girls - Shamji Noor “ 3rd; Under-17 boys - Fabio Pereira - 11th.
