MARGAO
The second Verna Champions Cup 2025 organized by Verna Football Club (Dubai) in the UAE, concluded successfully with 16 Goan teams competing, bringing the community together in an exciting football tournament.
CB Mapusa by DT clinched the championship for the second consecutive year, while S.S. Marna Siolim finished as runners-up. Salcete Boys FC secured third place, and Vanxim Divar came in fourth.
The tournament also recognized emerging talent, with Sirlim SC named the Promising Team. Individual awards went to Sherwin Abranches (S.S. Marna Siolim) as Promising Player, Melvan Furtado (C.B. Mapusa by DT) as Best Defender, Sahil Gosavi (C.B. Mapusa by DT) as Best Midfielder, Wasim Shaikh (C.B. Mapusa by DT) as Best Goalkeeper, and Shivanand Nalatwad (S.S. Marna Siolim) as Best Player.
