Dandolem secured a place in the next round of the Silver Jubilee Cup 2025 Inter-Ward Football Tournament with a convincing 2-0 victory over Madel SC. The tournament is being organised by Sporting Club of Virabhat and is being played at the St Alex Church ground in Curtorim.
Dandolem got off to a strong start, taking the lead in the 15th minute through Ryan Fernandes, who capitalised on a well-constructed move to make it 1-0.
Madel had a golden opportunity to equalise in the 20th minute, but Maxwell’s powerful strike was brilliantly saved by Dandolem goalkeeper Vincy Cardozo, keeping his side ahead at the break.
In the second half, Dandolem doubled their lead when Irun Hilario found the net in the 40th minute, sealing the win at 2-0. Despite Madel’s best efforts to fight back, they were unable to break through the solid Dandolem defence.
Ryan Fernandes was adjudged Man of the Match for his standout performance, with the award presented by Costancio Castanha, founder member of SC Virabhat.
