Goa’s top paddlers set for YMCA Major Ranking TT

Some of Goa’s finest table tennis talents are set to battle it out at the YMCA All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, to be held from August 18 to 24 at the Indoor Stadium, Campal, Panaji, under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association (GTTA).

Leading the line-up will be Aaron Farias, Chandan Caro, and Ishita Colaco, alongside former State champions Dheeraj Rai, Manish Yadav, and Reagan Pinto, who will add depth and experience to the competition. In the girls’ section, rising stars such as Pradnya Caro, Neeza Kamat, and Urvi Surlakar are expected to provide thrilling contests.

The event has also attracted a strong pool of emerging players, including Ruhaan Shaikh, Vedant Wagle, Yug Prabhu, and Dhruva Kamat, while promising youngsters like Samaira Soares and Anushri Naik continue their rise in the ranks.

With over 350 entries, this year’s edition will be among the largest table tennis events in the state, featuring categories across U11, U13, U15, U17, U19, Seniors (Men & Women), Veterans Doubles, and Para Table Tennis.

The top seeds in the boys’ draw include Ishaan Colaso (U11), Ruhaan Shaikh (U13), Chandan Caro (U15), Rishan Shaikh (U17), and Aaron Farias (U19 & Men’s Singles). Among the girls, Anaya Shukla (U11), Aarna Lotlikar, Aayushi Amonkar & Sachi Dessai (U13), Ishita Colaco (U15 & U17), and Neeza Kamat (U19 & Women’s Singles) will lead the charge.

“YMCA Panjim has always hosted one of the most awaited ranking tournaments in Goa, and this year’s edition promises high-quality action and intense battles across all categories,” said Christopher Menezes, Secretary of GTTA, while appreciating the efforts of Alvito D’Silva, Principal Coordinator of the tournament, and Clyde Lobo, President of YMCA Panjim.
