MARGAO: A crucial strike by Chaitan Dabholkar sealed Nerul SC’s place in the finals of the 35th All Goa St Anne’s Festival Inter-Village Soccer 2025, organized by Ponda Footballers in association with SAG and powered by the Bhatikar Charitable Trust. The semifinal match was held at the Animal Husbandry Ground, Curti-Ponda.
Nerul SC edged out Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda with a narrow 1-0 victory in a high-intensity, fast-paced encounter where both teams displayed attacking intent. The decisive moment came in the 22nd minute when a lapse in communication between Fatorda’s defender and goalkeeper proved costly. The defender left the ball expecting the keeper to clear it, but the delay allowed Chaitan Dabholkar to pounce and calmly tap the ball past the advancing goalkeeper for the match-winning goal.
Former Sesa and ex-goalkeeper coach Anand Arkondkar presented the Man of the Match award to Chaitan Dabholkar, in the presence of Santan Furtado.
