Parish Youth Nuvem booked their place in the semi-finals of the Curtorim Villagers Cup 2025, defeating Navelim Sporting 2-1 in a closely contested quarter-final held at the St. Alex Church Ground, Curtorim, on Tuesday. The tournament is being organised by Curtorim Gymkhana.
Navelim Sporting drew first blood in the 25th minute when Ronaldo Pereira scored with a powerful strike. However, Parish Youth Nuvem responded swiftly, with Nicolau Colaco netting the equaliser in the 28th minute through a well-placed finish. Just two minutes later, Shenoy Colaco scored to put Nuvem ahead 2-1 before the break.
In the second half, Nuvem had a couple of chances to extend their lead, but Francisco Colaco failed to convert two clear opportunities. Navelim Sporting pushed hard for an equaliser, but Nicolau Colaco stood firm in defence, ensuring Nuvem held on to their narrow lead until the final whistle.
Parish Youth Nuvem will now face Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda in the semi-finals.
Nicolau Colaco of Parish Youth Nuvem was named Man of the Match, with the award presented by James D’Costa, former General Secretary of Curtorim Gymkhana.
