United Boys Ambaulim secured their place in the semi-finals of the Curtorim Villagers Cup 2025 with a 2-0 victory over Fr Agnelo Paroda at the St. Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Monday. The tournament is organised by Curtorim Gymkhana.
Ambaulim started strong, with Jesvan Fernandes testing the crossbar within the first two minutes. The breakthrough came quickly as Dailon Carvalho scored in the 4th minute to put United Boys ahead 1-0. Despite Fr Agnelo Paroda’s efforts to find an equaliser, Ambaulim’s defence stood firm throughout the first half.
In the second half, Ambaulim doubled their lead in the 40th minute when Alex Fernandes capitalised on a pass from Bradley Carvalho to score. Paroda’s Godwin Fernandes came close to reducing the deficit in the 50th minute, but his shot was expertly saved by the Ambaulim goalkeeper.
United Boys Ambaulim will now face Curtorim Gymkhana in the semi-finals.
Alex Fernandes was named Man of the Match and received the award from Narayan Kamat, former goalkeeper and General Secretary of Curtorim Gymkhana.
