United Boys Ambaulim cruised to a commanding 5-0 victory over Sao Jose de Areal SC in the ongoing 3rd Fr. Bruno Leitao Memorial Inter-Village Football Tournament, organised by the Union of Chinchinim Villagers and played at the Chinchinim Church Ground.
Ambaulim got off to a dream start with Sowell Fernandes finding the net in the very first minute of the game. Sao Jose de Areal had a chance to pull level in the 25th minute, but a crucial goal-line clearance by an Ambaulim defender denied them the equaliser. Just before the halftime whistle, Alex Fernandes doubled Ambaulim’s lead, putting them 2-0 ahead at the break.
The second half belonged entirely to Ambaulim, with Dailon Carvalho stealing the show. He scored twice in quick succession — in the 4th and 10th minutes — to extend the lead to 4-0. Felixson Fernandes completed the rout in the 53rd minute, making it 5-0.
Dailon Carvalho’s standout performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
