St Anthony Football Club, Assolda cruised to a comfortable 2–0 win over Parish Youth Nuvem to book a quarterfinal berth in the Fr. Agnelo Inter-Village Football Tournament, organised by the Fr. Agnelo Sports and Cultural Club, Paroda, at the Panchayat ground, Avedem–Paroda.
Parish Youth Nuvem squandered an early chance to take the lead in the 10th minute when Roston Fernandes shot wide from close range. Assolda made them pay soon after, with Shelton Fernandes opening the scoring in the 19th minute with a well-struck volley.
Assolda continued to dominate and doubled their lead in the 37th minute when Gerito Fernandes rose well to head home from an aerial pass, effectively sealing the contest.
The victory saw St Anthony FC Assolda advance confidently into the quarterfinals of the tournament.
