Kala Academy and Tiatr Academy of Goa will jointly organize the Tiatr Day celebration on Friday, April 23, 2021, from 4.30 pm onwards at the Main Auditorium, Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji.
Art & Culture Minister Govind Gaude will be the Chief Guest for the function. President of Tiatr Academy Goa Menino Fernandes, Vice President Mario Menezes, General Council Member of Kala Academy Dr Cosma Fernandes, senior Tiatr artists Premanand Sangodkar and Avito Fernandes will be the guests of honour. The function has been arranged with the venue courtesy of Institute Menezes Braganza.
On this occasion, a get-together/tea party of invites and artists at the exhibition hall of Institute Menezes Braganza from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Thereafter, the Tiatr Day function will be held at 4.30 pm in which there will be felicitation of 12 senior Goan tiatr artists selected for the year 2019 & 2020 namely Maria Lourdes Fernandes (Singer & Stage Actress), Salvador Afonso (Director, Singer, Script Writer), Minguel Rodrigues (Musician-Saxophone player), Hortencio Saluzinho Eduardo Vaz e Pereira (Director, Writer, Actor, Lyricist) Joao Francisco Silva alias John D’Silva (Actor, Writer, Director), Ramesh Babay Komarpant (Script Writer, Director, Singer), Felecidade P Rebelo (Director, Actor, Singer), Zeferino Dias (Script Writer, Singer) Kenneth Michael Thereza Zuzarte (Singer, Lyricist), Menino Mario Araujo (Script Writer, Lyricist, Singer, Actor), Jose Antonio Agostinho Fernandes (Anthony San) (Director, Writer, Actor, Singer, Lyricist), Vitorino B J De Araujo (Musician–Trumpet player) at the hands of the Chief Guest for their outstanding contribution in the field of tiatr.
The felicitation function will be followed by the prize distribution of Tiatr ‘A’ & ‘B’ Group Competition 2020-21 at the hands of dignitaries followed by a presentation of Tiatr skits and songs.
Considering the pandemic and standard operating procedures in force, the entry will be restricted to representatives of Tiatr institutions of ‘A’ & ‘B’ group Tiatr competition, felicitants, guests, Tiatr Artist, as decided by the organisers. All those invitees attending will have to strictly maintain adequate physical distancing and ensure the wearing of face masks, without which entry to the programme will not be allowed.
