Having launched its bio-essence (chemical free) beauty products last week in Goa, Sales Director of Bio-Beauty London, Prahladraj V N, tells about the company's future plan for the Goan market while gearing up to face competition in the Goan market.
........
Bio-Beauty London is a company based in London and manufactures beauty products. The product range is 270 and we have presence across all beauty segments. The company commenced its operations in the year 1988 when it first launched its products in Gurgaon (Haryana). The India unit of the company is headed by Rajeev Mukul, who is the MD (India).
The company has received the Best Manufacturer of Quality Products 2014 Award from the President of India. This award is given by the Government of India.
In the last financial year, the company had a domestic turnover (in Indian market) of Rs 580 crores. Within the next two financial years, we are aiming at a turnover of Rs 20 crores in the Goan market.
The company's global net worth is Rs 2,800 crores.
Yes. More branches in Goa are in the pipeline, particularly in North Goa.
We plan to adopt a multi-pronged approach. First, we plan to sell directly to consumers on a day-to-day basis as per the consumers' needs. This includes sale through beauty salons, medical shops, etc. We have an edge in the beauty market as we sell bio-essence products, whereas most of the products in the beauty market have chemicals in them. Secondly, we will market the products to beauty parlours for use by their customers. Third, we will approach the Malls and display our products prominently in them. We also plan to introduce trial packs of our products and recruit volunteers who can offer these packs to the customers as selected parlours, etc. Beaches are another potential marketing places, especially shacks where we propose to market our sunscreen packs which are chemical-free.
Our products are more economical than our competitors. Plus, being bio-essence products, they are skin-friendly. We are here to face the competition and adopt strategies which we planned in other parts of the country. Moreover, we are confident that our product will be preferred by the end consumer. We are also confident about the customer returning to buy our product once he tries the same.
We are looking at an time horizon of five months and a turnover of Rs 5 crores to break-even in the Goan market.
The long term plan is to have a manufacturing unit in Goa, so as to turn Goa into a manufacturing hub for deriving economies of scale and also help employing many Goans in these units.
