Valpoi: A Social Science Model Competition for teachers was organised by the Valpoi Super Complex, drawing participation from educators representing several schools in the region. The competition aimed to encourage innovative teaching methods through the use of models in social science subjects.
Paresh Choudhari of Shelpe Khurd High School won the first prize for his model. Manisha Chari from Government High School, Dhabe, secured the second prize, while Ankush Shiddhaker of Government High School, Valpoi, finished third.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Suvarna Salgaonkar, Robert Fernandes, Principal of Our Lady of Lourdes School, Vishwas Kavlekar, and Dinesh Gawas. The winners were felicitated for their efforts and encouraged to continue contributing to innovative teaching practices.
Addressing the gathering, Kavlekar stressed the need for teachers to adopt creative methods to make learning more engaging and enjoyable for students. Salgaonkar spoke on the crucial role teachers play in shaping the future of society and urged them to take pride in their profession. Fr Fernandes congratulated the winners and praised their efforts in developing innovative and informative models.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Harish Kamat, while the ceremony was compered by Darshana Desai. The organisers described the event as successful and said it inspired participants to work on more innovative models in the future.
