Interaction on commercial tax for GST
PANAJI: Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) is organising an interaction between the commissioner of commercial taxes and chartered accountants and tax practitioners to understand the problems faced by the local taxpayers in Goa. This is in context of migration to goods-and-services tax (GST).
The interaction will be free and it will be held on December 8, at 4 pm at GCCI Convention Hall in Panaji. All CAs and tax practitioners, who want to participate, should register with GCCI by calling at 0832-2424252 and mailing to [email protected] in advance.
In a press note, GCCI said, “The commissioner of commercial tax will also brief the CAs and tax practitioners about consequences of non-registration and also the road map for smooth implementation of GST in Goa.”
The central government has recently kicked off migration to GST with the launch of a website - www.gst.gov.in. This website is enabling taxpayers located across India to update their information and other relevant documents as a first step towards obtaining a registration number under GST.
GCCI also informed that the phase wise migration process has already started and will go on till January 31, 2017. And, over next couple of months, traders from all states are expected to be migrated to GST network.
