Goa has been ranked third by leading online-travel player TripAdvisor on its 'Travellers' Choice' awards for destinations, recognizing travellers’ favorite places around the world. Trip Advisor has rated Goa with an average nightly rate of all bookable hotels in Goa - Rs 4,738.
According to a press release issued, Goa is also the unofficial party place of India where Indian culture intertwines with Portuguese influences left over from a 500-year occupation. From beaches such as Agonda_Beach, Dudhsagar Falls to numerous churches, restaurants serving delectable local cuisine; there is plenty for the travellers to choose from.
“The Travellers’ Choice Destinations awards this year included a great mix of the more popular destinations such as Goa and Jaipur, with a few lesser known ones like Munnar and Varkala.
TripAdvisor has also identified top-rated hotels as well as popular attractions to offer travellers more insights about great things to discover in these award-winning destinations.
Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar said in a statement, “We are extremely delighted to know that Goa has been listed 3rd in the top 5 travelers’ choice Destinations in India. We have received a good response from foreign and domestic tourists in 2015 as in the past. Our new initiatives, marketing and promoting is showing substantial results and we are optimistic that tourists will keep opting Goa as their destination for holidaying.”
