Volkswagen India will give a preview of its much-awaited sub 4-metre sedan 'Ameo' to customers at its showroom in Panaji on June 25. The vehicle is expected to be formally launched next month. Parth Modi, director, Mody Autocorp, authorised dealer of Volkswagen, said, “We will invite customers to come at our showroom to touch, feel and book the Ameo. We will start delivering this car in July.”

On Saturday, Volkswagen will be launching 1.2 litre, 3 cylinder, petrol engine variant of Ameo, but it is expected that the company will launch the 1.5 litre diesel variant by November. The company has attempted to package the best of safety and luxury features at affordable pricing in the Ameo.

Sri Harsha K N, chief executive officer, Mody Autocorp, said, “All variants of the Ameo, including the base model called Trendline, have dual airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS). The higher variants, Comfortline & Highline, even have a feature called cruise-control. In fact, Ameo is the only car in sub 4-meter segment to have cruise-control.” Comfortline & Highline also features double-barrel fog lamps.

In Goa, the Trendline will be available at an on-road price of Rs 6.07 lakh. The Comfortline is priced at Rs 6.91 lakh while the Highline will cost Rs 8.17 lakh.

Volkswagen India has already launched special editions of Polo and Vento as well. The special editions are available in limited numbers in dealerships across India.

Polo Select and Vento Celeste come with new features like a carbon finish centre console for dashboards. The touchscreen infotainment system in Vento Celeste includes a sophisticated Blaupunkt radio with navigation. Polo Select is additionally offered with 4 scruff plates and seat covers with Volkswagen logo.
