The Deao Sports club is focused on developing the social andathletic skills of the children in Quepem. The team which comprises of boysfrom the villages in the area and they have been making their mark in severalinter-village tournaments. Peter Carvalho made his mark in the colors of thisclub before moving on to play for Dempo. Another player is the late AlexanderDenise who started off in this club. The club has achieved success in variousinter- village tournaments and a recent tournament in Panjim saw them win thetitle. The team practices every week and the intensity increases as atournaments approach. Since most of the players come from villages, the teamprovides them with transport, some snacks and a stipend to help them tide overwhatever expenses they may have incurred.
We usually spend around Rs.50, 000 every year to participatein the various inter-village tournaments and to pay players. We organize tiatrfestivals and earn some money to keep this club in action. We participate inseveral inter-village tournaments to help us gain experience. This is anopportunity for the boys to gain experience and help them make the most of itand move ahead in life. We as a group are very motivated to help our boys dowell in life. Our football team will slowly and steadily make a mark in thedivision and move ahead.

The club was formed in 1963 by Father Nazar Godinho who wasthe Chaplain at the place. The residents donated the ground, which is now usedby the club. The incumbent President Raul Pereira is of the opinion that theclub is determined to provide the youth with a path to achieving glory in lifein whichever field they wish to do so.
