The Eagle Sports Club is focused on providing a platform forthe boys of Sankhli to improve their skills in football and cricket. Thefootball team is presently playing in the third division and cricket team isplaced in the B division. The club may not have players in the state footballprofessional league but they have a strong cricket team. Some of their playersrepresent the state in the Ranji trophy and the under-23 team. Mahendra PaiKuchelkar has played for the state and Jayant Kuchekar has played for theunder-23 team.
We survive on the munificence of our club members and localbusinessmen to sustain the club. As the President, I have to talk to people forsponsorships and yes local businessmen have invested. With regards to cricketthe GCA gives us Rs one lakh annually which helps us greatly but it is notenough. Sometimes we can only participate in a few tournaments organized by theGCA, since even participation in tournaments cost money. We have a similarproblem in football also. It is really sad because we would like to participatein village tournaments but money is a hassle. Every year is a battle but we haveto take part in the GFA tournaments

The club was formed in 1973 by a group of people with theintention of providing an opportunity to the youth of the area, a platform todevelop skills in football and cricket. A team was created to provide directionto the youth and to help them develop skills on the play field and also inlife.
