What are your views on hockey and football inGoa?
During our time everysport used to be played and watched by people. Not only hockey and football butbasketball, volleyball and table tennis too. There used to be such hype about sport.Kids used to play then which is not happening now. It can be the effect of TV.People prefer following matches on TV now. I don’t know what’s happening towomen’s football today. Even the coverage of other sports apart from footballand cricket by print media is not satisfactory. As an onlooker or lay person, I don’t knowwhat’s going on in the state or country.
Do you miss the sport?
I left the sporton a high. Till the time I played, I gave a good performance consistently. Idid feel bad when I could not make it to the Asia Cup because of the injury.That really hurt. But I absolutely have no regrets. I feel fulfilled.
Most memorable moment in your footballingcareer?
Playing forIndia, of course, is memorable. Winning for Goa was very special as till then,no team from Goa including the men’s team had won the nationals. Also, I have athing for hat-trick. I scored a hat-trick in all three matches “ when I first playedfor my village, for my state and for the country.
Your taste in movies?
I like movies whichare close to reality. I enjoy comedy but I hate science fiction.
What kind of music do you prefer listening to?
It depends on mymood. I like all genres of music except trance. It drives me mad.
Food you can’t resist?
I like any foodthat is appealing. I love Punjabi and Bengali food. I don’t like South Indianfood.
