Stating that BJP had evolved with great struggle and due to efforts of party workers, Panchayat Minister Rajendra Arlekar emphasised the importance of unity and dedication to keep the BJP in power.

He was speaking at the Curchorem BJP block level meeting, where Ashok Krishna Naik was elected as new president of Curchorem BJP block. The meeting was convened at Sarvodaya Educational Society community hall, which was attended by South Goa MP Adv Narendra Sawaikar, Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral, ZP Perpetual Fernandes and CCMC Chairperson Vishwas Sawant Dessai.

Addressing party members, Arlekar said due to good campaigning, unity and loyalty of BJP members, the party succeeded in winning 21 seats in the assembly. “It is necessary to dedicate oneself for the further progress of BJP,” he added.

MP Sawaikar said BJP has registered over 12 crore members in the party, and the credit goes to the people at grass root level. He asked the BJP members to remain alert against misconceptions spread against BJP by the opposition and also urged the members to convince and clear doubts of the locals.

The office bearers of the new block level BJP committee are Ashok Krishna Naik (president), Rajani Vilas Naik (vice president), Rajendra Vasta (secretary), Atreya Kakodkar (treasurer) and other members. Former president of BJP block Curchorem Ashish Karmali compered the event, while MLA Cabral proposed the vote of thanks.
