The seafaring community has strongly condemned Uday Bhembre and Arvind Bhatikar for insulting seamen and oppose their contention that they cannot decide the future of their children because they are seamen.

“These hypocrites should clean the dirt from their own eyes before telling others. Bhembre and Bhatikar probably don't know that every profession has its own dignity and nobleness, the seafarers are professionals with levels of education ranging from graduate engineers, masters, diploma holders, etc. All the seafaring community stand together in opposing and condemning both Bhembre and Bhatikar," stated Ralf Barretto at a media briefing, while categorically stating that the seamen will come out in large numbers if required to foil your evil plans.

He said that Bhembre and Bhatikar are reluctant to come down from their delusional high pedestal and accept the fact that every parent sweats drops of blood toiling to ensure that their children are given a good quality education and a happy childhood. “But these schemers, plotters and evil minds with their taunts seem intent to spoil the peaceful atmosphere in which children are growing. Any parent for that matter will face any adversity and hardship for the safety of their children and their well-being, and Bhembre and Bhatikar's ridiculous stand that seamen are not qualified to decide their own children’s education in a school of their choice is purely a figment of his feudal Nazi mentality, which is out of sync with today’s ground realities," he said.

Saying that seamen have learnt to live and adjust on the ships sailing the mighty oceans across the world and also live and adjust with various people of other nationalities, he said the fruits of their toil can be seen enriching the society. “Today, while plum jobs in Goa are manipulated, our brethren who are coming from diverse backgrounds and have gained employment onboard sea going vessels, are the true ambassadors of Goa and its culture as we travel across the world," he added.
