Together with the quality education, basic infrastructure also plays an important role in building the all round development of the students. Keeping this mind, new toilet blocks were inaugurated at Our Lady of Fatima High School, Rivona on recently in the distinguished presence of Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar, sarpanch Suryakant Naik, ward panch Serona D’Souza, other panch members and headmaster of Our Lady of Fatima High School Fr Pio Furtado.
The headmaster expressed his gratitude to the Rivona Panchayat for fulfilling the long awaited need of toilets in the school.
Dignitaries also inaugurated the school parliament in the presence of headmaster Fr Pio Furtado, manager of the school Fr Octaviano Cunha, physical education teacher Felix Furtado, staff and students. Zenia Lopes was inducted as the school prime minister and Abigail Lopes as the deputy prime minister. The school parliament ministers were allotted various portfolios like Disclipline, Education, Cleanliness, Opposition etc.
Installation ceremony of captains and vice captains of four houses namely Blue, Green, Red and Yellow was also held on same day.
Speaking on the occasion chief guest Prasad Gaonkar congratulated school authorities for training student to be the future leaders and also appreciated Our Lady of Fatima High School, Rivona for securing 100% SSC result and first place in Sanguem Taluka with Savlli Sanaley Fernandes achieving 92% . Priya Fernandes compered the programme and Master Malcolm Alfonso proposed a vote of thanks.
