The spirit of patriotism

On  August 15, Mount Litera Zee School, Goa proudly celebrated the 73rd Independence Day of the country. The program commenced at 8:45 a.m. with the flag hoisting at the hands of the Chief Guest Captain B Suresh Babu and Principal followed by the National Anthem. A pledge was recited by all, promising to be volunteers to build a new India free from bondages of caste, inequality, illiteracy and corruption.

Thereafter the cultural program began wherein grade 3,4,5 participated and performed for the day. A welcome speech has been given by Khiana Theron student from class 5. Grade 3,4,5 sang patriotic songs enlightening and awakening feelings of true devotion to the nation.  They enthusiastically danced and the audience reciprocated back applauding their experiences and talent. Grade 3 A, B enacted a skit taking us back to the history of freedom struggle and sacrifices made by our freedom fighters.. Students of grade 3,4,5 were trained by our dance teacher Mamta Bijlani and music teacher Yashwant  and  by the respective class teachers. On this day PTA of Mount Litera Zee School, Goa arranged felicitation of the toppers of class 10 and 12  at the hands of chief guest Captain B Suresh Babu.

 Chief guest Captain B Suresh Babu who is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, gave a very motivational speech. He guided the children to be sincere and adamant in whatever work they choose to do as they are the future of our nation. He sparked the patriotism in the students by sharing his views.  

It was a thrill to watch all teachers along with the Principal express their pride for the efforts put up by students and teachers cheered by all. Finally the program concluded with a strong message from the Principal to serve our country and a vote of thanks proposed by Atharva Sandeep student of class 5 at 10:25 a.m.

Govt to ban Goans going to casinos, but when and how?

Goans will be banned from entering casinos, announced chief minister Pramod Sawant on the floor of the House. Did we hear this earlier? Yes, twice. In April 2017 and then again in August 2018, the then chief minister Manohar Parrikar made similar announcements. While promising a Casino Policy, Gaming Zone and Gaming Commissioner, he had stated that Goans will not be permitted to enter the casino playing areas.   What is the idea behind banning locals from going on…
