On the occasion of the 15th State Road Safety Week, JnyanVikas School, Porvorim, organised a Road Safety Awareness Programme to educatestudents about the importance of responsible and safe behaviour on the roads.
The programme was conducted with the aim of creatingawareness among students about essential road safety rules and encouraging themto become responsible road users. The Director of Jnyan Vikas School, ProfDevidas Kudav, Headmistress Saroj Pawaskar, and Coordinator Swati Vernekarwelcomed the resource persons from the Goa Traffic Police Department.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Dinesh Valawalkar addressed thestudents and sensitised them to various aspects of road safety.
He emphasised the importance of wearing helmets, obeyingtraffic signals, using pedestrian crossings and crossing roads carefully. Healso introduced the students to various road signs and their meanings, helpingthem understand how these signs contribute to safer travel.
In addition to road safety, ASI Valawalkar highlighted theimportance of responsible mobile phone use and online safety.
He cautioned students about potential online traps and scamsand encouraged them to use digital devices wisely and safely.
The students listened attentively and actively participatedin the awareness session, gaining valuable knowledge about road safety andresponsible digital behaviour.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Tr SohanIn-charge of the event, whose efforts contributed to the smooth and effectiveconduct of the programme. Vote of thanks was given by Aneeqa Sheikh of standard10. Tiya Kumar of standard 10 compered the programme.
