It is not often that one goes beyond the call of duty to help someone in distress. Two cops at Cuncolim took up the role of a lifeguard and saved two kids from drowning. It is understood that the highway patrol was on duty of cracking a whip against violators of traffic rules when they heard cries for help emanating from a nearby rivulet.
Two kids aged between two and four accidentally got into a rivulet. Two of the cops on duty immediately got down into the rivulet and rescued the two children, much to the relief of their anxious family members and the public. The presence of mind of these cops helped in saving two precious lives and is a fine example of coming to the rescue of those in distress. These highway cops need to be complimented for the daring act of rescue and in the process going beyond their call of duty.
It would be desirable for these bravehearts to be felicitated by the police department and the government and, if possible, even be considered for promotion.
