Has demonetisation, badly implemented GST, GDP figures and state of affairs made the common man happy today? The prices of onions, tomatoes, vegetable, eggs and fruits are beyond normal reach. Dangerous pollution not under control. The unorganized sector is in doldrums and farmers are in distress. Petrol prices are rising, the world and nature of jobs available is also changing.
Digitisation and cashless drive is pursued without adequate reliable infrastructure, Aadhar being linked to everything compulsorily without our consent is supposed to be making us into an honest society, but the laws are not being applied without fear or favor. Are we becoming a hypocritical society with a government sponsored Hindutva agenda?
Modi is a good modernizer but poor reformer. It appears the Prime Minister of India thinks he is the PM of the BJP and he and his entire cabinet are now in election mode. Obnoxious remarks are being exchanged with offence being the best defence. The bureaucracy and police need drastic reforms.
The Parliament is reportedly to consider adding to The Religious Institutions (prevention of misuse) Act 1988 provisions to jail religious leaders seeking votes for a party. Such a fanatic obsession with religion! Will this be used to jail Christian and Muslim clerics and not apply to the yogis?
Unless this nonsense stops and the badly needed reforms are forthcoming with as much enthusiasm and priority as note bandi, the threshold of pain is in danger of becoming unbearable to live with.
