The BJP has been in the saddle for over two decades and yet they are showing signs of anxiety with the whole central cabinet stationed/camping in Gujarat.
What is the fear lurking on the minds of the BJP? Seasoned, experienced politicians are deriding Rahul Gandhi and capitalizing on his religious leaning or Aurangazeb analogy. What about the development plank that the BJP is so confident about?
Rahul has prefaced women's safety, unemployment, costly education, health and madness about GST and demonetization, etc that have touched a chord of sensitivity among voters. Unemployment is down and hope of revival seems low.
But BJP is going guns blazing denouncing Rahul. On the other hand, the novice is cool, focusing on issues of governance and not getting personal or irritated with the tirades launched against him. Gloating over yoga, demonetization GST, surgical strikes are no panacea for the ills facing the nation. The price rise of all essential commodities is hitting the nation across the length and breadth of India.
The new alignment in Gujarat is sending shivers down the spine of confident the BJP and the margin of victory is expected to be minimal. However unpalatable, Gujarat will throw surprise results as poll pundits project.
