We come across many instances wherein two-wheeler riders hold an umbrella over their heads while riding in the rains. The situation tends to be dangerous not only for the riders but also for pedestrians and fellow travellers. In case the rider loses balance, there is every possibility of a mishap taking place thereby leading to adverse consequences. Equally dangerous are acts of closing umbrellas on two-wheelers while the vehicle is in motion. Recently, a woman proceeding on a two-wheeler succumbed to her injuries after falling off a moving two-wheeler at Shiroda in Ponda. While attempting to close the umbrella, she lost her balance and slipped off the motorcycle in the process. Having received severe head injuries, she lost her precious life. Considering adverse consequences arising due to such negligent acts, it is the need of the hour for two-wheeler riders to remain careful and make it a point to wear a raincoat. Very often people neglect wearing a raincoat for proceeding to nearby places and carry an umbrella instead. Compulsory use of raincoats on two-wheelers would ultimately assure safety to one and all.
