As India and China continue to stare down each other at Doklam, Rajnath's Singh's wishful thinking took a hit as China refused to back out. The Home Minister hoped that our neighbour would finally come to a positive conclusion on the issue very soon, but alas, the dragon people have asked India to vacate its troops from the plateau if something positive needs to materialise.
Just being neutral, one cannot write off the fact that both sides have a nuclear stockpile, thus they are a nuclear power. It is obvious that nobody from either side would be trigger happy in launching a nuke the moment things get awry. But why push it so far? The West has acknowledged India's stand in the heated stand off as showing ‘maturity'. Is that all China is, push around its weight to show that it is strong to get it's word out? Looking at how ‘immature' it was for the Chinese to pick up stones against the Indian army makes a clear point, they want to provoke a side that has chosen not to pick up arms right away. Would they have done the same if they were bordering the US? Send their soldiers to physically assault US army men?
