Modi bashing?

Is the KVIC calendar really upsetting, or are we over-reacting? Firstly, is the picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi spinning the wheel real or photoshopped? Secondly, does the Prime Minister know how to spin? And we are not referring to the stuff that Subramanian Swamy churns out. It does seem odd for a Prime Minister, who once adorned a suit that cost Rs 10 lakh, to be seen spinning cotton. It would be odd to see Rahul or Sonia, both Gandhis, doing it as well, but the controversy is about Modi, so let’s leave them out of it. The issue here is everyone, who is someone in the Congress or affiliated to it is incensed with seeing Modi on the calendar instead of the Mahatma. It would be more interesting to know how many leaders hung last year’s calendar on their home walls, because going by the fuss they are making, it looks like they have been deprived of a calendar for 2017. The KVIC has already clarified that it has not used the image of the Mahatma on at least seven occasions in the past, and no one said a word. Truth be said, Modi generates interest like no other politician. Now we know that the PMO was not consulted on use of Modi’s image, but that is not likely to assuage the opposition, because this is not about Gandhi, who is revered in fits and starts and completely ignored when inconvenient. This is about getting Modi, by hook, crook or Twitter.
