Women police station on Thursday filed a 75-page charge-sheet against a 46-year-old man charging him for raping and impregnating his 14-year-old step-daughter.
Police have recorded the statements of a total 23 of witnesses in the case.
The man was arrested in May this year when the incident came to light after the victim girl began showing physical signs five months into her pregnancy.
He was arrested and booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Goa Children’s Act, and POSCO Act. He is in custody till date.
The girl’s mother was earlier married to a man in Andhra Pradesh. She moved in search of employment after her husband died seven years ago. The victim girl has a younger sister. The girl’s mother came in contact with the accused in Goa and they got married. When the girl told she was not feeling well her mother took her to a doctor and discovered that she was pregnant.
