The Congress led by Luizinho Faleiro is finally off the blocks. It has prepared a chargesheet against the ruling BJP-led government in which it has accused it of failure
to create jobs, formulate a regional plan and messing up the medium of instruction issue. From having no issue, the Congress has cooked up 25 and this is the platform on which it will go to the polls. The party has picked a leaf from the Aam Aadmi Party book on how to write manifestoes. Faleiro promised that an election manifesto would be drafted after taking feedback from families in a door-to-door campaign. The only setback for the party was the absence of six of its eight MLAs at the meeting to release the chargesheet. This is a problem
that Faleiro has been grappling with ever since he took over
party president and indications are that he has not yet found
a formula to unite sitting MLAs. The party needs to do more
on this front or else it might disintegrate before the electoral
battle is fought.
